What does Pilates have to do with Control Monger? Well, first off, Pilates is all about control. Joseph Pilates, who came up with the exercise methodology Pilates, originally named it Contrology, meaning control of the movement and muscles in the the body. And by definition, monger means, “a person who promotes a specified activity, situation, or feeling, especially one that is undesirable or discreditable.” Now, we would argue the undesirable or discreditable part of Pilates because indeed it is quite the opposite. However, we would definitely consider ourselves promoters of the activity. So in short, we are promoters of the activity of control over the movement and muscles of the body.
